Training FAQ

How long is each class? How many sessions?

Our training classes will consist of six one-hour sessions held once a week.

What does the course cover?

Julie Free has been training dogs in obedience and agility for over 16 years. She will be conducting basic manners training and teaching skills that can be used to go on to do agility, rally or protection with your dog. The main goal for these classes is to have a wonderful family companion.

Where are the classes held?

The classes will be here at Tails-A-Wagn’ in the parking lot or indoors if the weather is bad. Our first class is always orientation, so please do not bring your dog the first night. We will meet inside the building for orientation. The correct training equipment will be recommended during orientation.

How much does the class cost?

The fee for this class is $150, and we will keep the classes to a maximum of eight dogs to make sure everyone gets the attention they need to succeed.

Are all dogs welcome?

Puppies must be at least four months old and finished with all puppy vaccinations. Because of the limited space and the fact that some of the dogs will be young puppies, aggressive dogs are not allowed. Since most dogs deemed aggressive turn out to just be overzealous or just have no manners, Julie will be able to advise you to your best course of action, so we suggest you talk with her before enrolling.

How do I get started?

Just like us, not every dog learns in the same way so we offer different types of training to meet the needs of your specific dog. We have group classes, private training and individual training during daycare or overnight stays. We would love to visit with you about your individual needs and goals for your dog and your family. Call us or send us an email with questions, and one of our client relation specialists will be happy to help you.

How do I contact Julie if I have questions?
